Above we have listed all the Healings of Jesus in the Gospels, where we are provided with an account describing how the Healing took place. As well as these, there are general descriptions of Healing Campaigns and Meetings

(listed later) which sometimes reveal the Method used by Jesus to deliver God’s Healing Power to the sick.

STATISTICS. Total number of Healing and Deliverance Testimonies = 26 (Healings 20, Deliverances 7).

Total initiated through the Spirit (Gifts) = 9. Initiated by believers = 17.

Method: By the Spoken Word only = 13. By Hands (Touch) = 13.

Number of Healing Testimonies = 20. Initiated through the Spirit = 8 Initiated by believers = 12.

Method: By the Spoken Word only = 7 By Hands (Touch) = 13.

We can deduce that all Deliverances were done by the spoken Word alone, but that most Healings were done through Touch, often along with words.

Healing Services and Campaigns in the Gospels. It is noteworthy that in these general descriptions of Healings, where often many people got healed at the same time, the method of Touch (often through the Laying

on of Hands) is predominant. In fact, whenever the method Jesus used is described, it is this method.

1. TIMES when no particular METHOD is described.

(Matthew 4:23-25, 9:35, 14:14 Luke 8:1-3, 9:11, John 6:2).

2. TIMES when the METHOD of TOUCH was used (often through the LAYING on of HANDS).

Luke 4:40 (Capernaum). “All those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His HANDS on every one of them and HEALED them.”

Mark 6:5: “Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His HANDS on a few sick people and healed them. And He marvelled because of their unbelief” (see Matthew 13:58).

Mark 3:7-10: “He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him”

Luke 6:17-19: “...a great multitude of people...came to HEAR Him and be HEALED of their diseases, as well as those who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were HEALED. And the whole multitude sought to TOUCH Him, for POWER went out from Him and HEALED them all.”

Mark 6:53-56: “...Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick

in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just TOUCH the Hem of His Garment.

And as many as TOUCHED Him were MADE WELL.”

Matthew 14:34-36: “..they brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only TOUCH the Hem of His Garment. And as many as TOUCHED it were MADE PERFECTLY WELL.”

A SUMMARY of the HEALINGS and DELIVERANCES in the ACTS of the APOSTLES.

Healing Services and Campaigns in the Acts of the Apostles.

It is noteworthy that in these general descriptions of Healings, where often many people got healed at the same

time, the method of Touch (often through the Laying on of Hands) is predominant, as the normal Method used

by the Early-Church. This is done in obedience to the instructions of Jesus in Mark 16:18.

1. TIMES when NO PARTICULAR METHOD is DESCRIBED. (Acts 4:33, 6:8, 8:5-7).

2. TIMES when the METHOD of TOUCH was used (Acts 4:29,30, 5:12, 14:3, 19:11,12, 28:8,9).

3. ONE TIME ANOTHER METHOD WAS USED - Peter’s Shadow (Acts 5:14-16).
