The Lord's Prayer (Poem)

Our Father - The Lord’s Prayer (A. Campbell), based on Derek’s sermon.

When Jesus prayed and made conclusion

Disciples asked for prayer instruction.

Don’t pray in public observation. Make your praying plain (He said)

And don’t make endless repetition

Lift your eyes to Father in Heaven

Start with praise and adoration. Hallowing His Name

Make supplication, intercession

Pray that you will see his kingdom

In family, friends and in all nations. May His Kingdom come

Then pray the prayer of dedication

That your will be in submission

And give to him your heart’s intentions. Pray His Will be done.

Then pray in faith and with conviction

For Father daily makes provision

(Pray to him with moderation. Think of needs not greed)

Then its time to make confession

Releasing others from condemnation

Forgive as you have been forgiven (Seeds of bitterness breed).

Pray that you will have protection

And when you’re faced with sin, temptation

Believe you can know liberation. From evil He’ll defend

So as you close make declaration.

Your God’s reigns. He has dominion

He’s Lord of every situation. And so we say AMEN!
