THE TRAIL of His BLOOD (BLOOD COVENANT(8).
How can we know which areas of life are covered by the Blood of Jesus?
(I) The New Covenant Promises of Provision to us ‘in Christ’, that are through His Blood.
(II) The Covenant Names of God. In Exodus
God revealed Himself to Israel as a Covenant-keeping God using the Name
YWWH (‘I AM’, Jehovah, Lord) His Personal Covenant Name. Later He
expanded this into 8 compound Names, by which He revealed Himself and
the Covenant in more detail. The 8 areas covered by these Names cover
the 8 areas of our Covenant Provision. Through these Names He declares:
“This is Who I am to you through our Covenant.”
Jesus confirmed that He was the fulfilment of all these Covenant
Promises with His 8 ‘I AM’s. Through His shed Blood, He is committed be
all these things to us in the New Covenant. For example, He says to us: “Through the Blood of the Covenant, I am the Lord your Provider.” By faith we are to agree and confess: “Through the Blood of Jesus, the Lord is my Provider.”
1. Jehovah ROHI = The Lord is my SHEPHERD (Psalm 23:1). Loving Leader and Guide. Jesus said: I AM the Good Shepherd (John 10:11; 1Peter 2:24,25, 5:4; Hebrews 13:20).
2. Jehovah TSIDKENU = The Lord is my RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 23:6, 33:16). The entry into God’s Kingdom. Jesus said: “I AM the DOOR.” (John 10:7, 1Corinthians 1:30)
3. Jehovah McKEDDESH =The Lord is my SANCTIFIER (Holiness).
Leviticus 22:32. Jesus said: “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6, 1Corinthians 1:30).
4. Jehovah JIREH = The Lord is my PROVIDER and PROVISION (Genesis 22:14). Jesus said: “I AM the Bread of Life” (John 6:48, Galatians 3:13,14, 2Corinth 8:9, Phil 4:19).
5. Jehovah SHAMMAH = The Lord is PRESENT (the fullness of His Spirit, God’s glory) - Ezekiel 48:35. Jesus said: “I AM the Light of the world” (John 8:12, Acts 2:32,33).
6. Jehovah ROPHE = The Lord is my HEALER (Exodus 15:26). Emotional and Physical. Jesus said: “I AM the Resurrection and the Life” (John 11:25, 1Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:16,17).
7. Jehovah SHALOM = The Lord is my PEACE and WHOLENESS (Judges 6:24).
Jesus said: “I AM the true Vine” (John 15:1, in Him our lives become fruitful, Ephes 2:13,14).
8. Jehovah NISSI = The Lord is my VICTORY, over every enemy especially death (Exodus 17:15). Jesus said: “I
AM the Alpha and Omega, He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am
alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and Hell” (Rev 1:8,17,18).
(III) The Trail of of His Blood. His Life is in His Blood, and His shed Blood is His
Life given up for us, to give us His Life (Leviticus 17:11-14). In cutting the New Covenant,
Jesus sprinkled His Blood in various places to signify and reveal to us what areas of our lives
His Blood covers, and in what ways His Life will be released to us through His Blood.
*The 1st Sprinkling was in GETHSEMENE (Luke 22:41-44) when in emotional agony He sweated Blood on His brow, showing that His Blood covers our MIND for our PEACE: “The chastisement for our PEACE was upon Him” (Isaiah
53:5). Sweat denotes emotional and physical stress, a key marker of the
Fall (Genesis 3:19). He bore all our mental torment and stress caused
by sin (both our own and other’s). He declares: “Through My Blood, I AM JEHOVAH SHALOM-your PEACE” (see Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:13-17, Colossians 1:20)
Confess: “By the Blood of Jesus I have wholeness, peace of mind and good relationships with God and men.”
*The 2nd Sprinklings of Blood were over His FACE and BACK
(Luke 22:63-65, Matthew 27:26, John 19:1). He took mockery and derision
along with spitting and blows to His face (Isaiah 52:14, 50:6). The
Blood on His FACE signified our EMOTIONAL HEALING. He
took our SHAME so that His GLORY could shine from us. He took our
REJECTION to give us accepted (Isaiah 53:3,4). His heart was already
bursting, releasing His Blood for the healing of the brokenhearted. His BACK was made a single bloody wound by a whip with bone and metal, for our physical PHYSICAL HEALING:“By His stripes (wound) we are healed (healing- to us)” (Isaiah 53:5, 1Peter 2:24). He declares: “Through My Blood, I AM Jehovah ROPHE - your HEALER. Say: “By the BLOOD OF JESUS, I am healed emotionally and physically.”
His Blood was also sprinkled over the soldier (representing sinful
humanity) showing that His Blood is shed for the salvation of all
men. The Centurian and his men were saved soon after (Matt 27:54)
*The 3rd Sprinkling was in the various Judgement Halls
where He stood, being unjustly tried and declared unrighteous in 6
illegal trials, for He was bearing our sin and condemnation so that we
could be aquitted,forgiven, justified and vindicated (Isaiah 53:5-11).
His Blood covers our sins and the accusations of the enemy (Rev 12:11).
He declares: “Through My Blood, I AM JEHOVAH TSIDKENU - your RIGHTOUSNESS and JUSTIFICATION.” Say: “Through the BLOOD of JESUS, I am justified, made righteousness” (Romans 5:9).
*The 4th Sprinkling of Blood was the CROWN of THORNS
pressed into His skull. (Matthew 27:26-30). THORNS symbolise the CURSE:
frustration, poverty and lack, in our life and circumstances (Genesis
3:18). His outflowing Blood turns our Curse to Blessing, starting with
our thinking, then transforming our circumstances (Romans 8:28. Gal
3:13,14, 2Cor 8:9). He declares: “Through My Blood, I AM JEHOVAH JIREH, your PROVIDER.” Say: “Through the BLOOD of JESUS, the Curse is broken, so now I live under the Blessing.”
*The 5th Sprinkling of Blood was upon a believer, setting him apart to follow Jesus and carry his Cross (Matt 27: 31,32). Then nails pierced His HANDS and FEET signifying that the Blood covers our WORK and WALK. He is JEHOVAH McKEDDESH, our Sanctifier.
*The 6th Sprinkling of Blood was on the TREE, covering original sin (pride, independance from
God, going our own way) that took place at Eden’s Tree, releasing us to
follow (trust) the Good Shepherd (Isaiah 53:6). He says: “Through My Blood, I AM JEHOVAH ROHI - your SHEPHERD.”
*The 7th Sprinkling was when His SIDE was speared, with His Blood flowing out of His broken
heart upon His DEAD BODY. This provided Resurrection for us, VICTORY
over the last enemy - Death (Hebrews 13:20, He is the firstfruits). He is JEHOVAH NISSI, the Lord our VICTORY.
*The 8th Sprinkling was on Jerusalem’s streets. Walking
to the Cross He spilt His Blood on the earth. So Jerusalem (the city of God) and the
whole earth will be filled with His Presence (Ezekiel 48:35). Zion is
symbolic of God’s people. He is JEHOVAH SHAMMAH - by His Blood, I am now a Temple of the Holy-Spirit.
